On Saturday, June 10th, the Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife announced the winners of this year's moose permit lottery. The event was held in Augusta at a one-day festival.
Winners of the lottery react quickly by booking a guided moose hunt in the Wildlife Management District they were selected to hunt. Libby's Lodge & Canty's offers two types of guided moose hunts in zones 1, 2, 3, 5 ,6, 10 and 11. With the assistance of a personal Maine Registered Guide, you will hunt for a moose by means of stalking and calling. You can choose to take your moose with a rifle or bow.
Lodge owner Travis Libby can also take you on a canoe/pack-out moose hunt. This is old school hunting where you find a large trophy moose in an area, harvest them in the field, then pack the meat and horns out in the canoe.
